Every piece at Bella Bee Decor carries a story — and that's exactly the point. I'm a picker, a restorer, and an incurable lover of beautiful things that have lived a life before they found their way to me.

 

I scour the Detroit area — estate sales, salvage yards, antique markets, and out-of-the-way finds — for the kinds of objects that most people walk past: weathered picture frames with good bones, ironstone serving pieces, vintage flatware with a

patina you can't fake, architectural salvage from the city's extraordinary past. Old metal ceiling tiles. Carved door lintels. Windows worn by decades of Michigan weather. Each one a piece of Detroit's history, waiting to be given new life.

In my studio, I restore and reimagine these finds by hand. I paint and refinish vintage furniture using time-honored and new techniques — gilding, decoupage, layered finishes that feel earned rather than manufactured. I source and

professionally frame original art to complement antique and restored frames, creating pieces that feel like they belong in a manor house or a sunlit European cottage.

 

My aesthetic lives at the intersection of Old World elegance and warm approachability — the kind of rooms that feel cozy and storied, where the French china on the shelf and the salvaged architectural detail on the wall each have something to say.
